MORE ABOUT ME
Thanks for checking my profile, our miraculous journey/connection may begin from this second. Who am I? I am Zac and throughout my life journey, I was struggling with the incompetency of not meeting a certain standards posed by my peers, or even my sibling. The incompetence drove me to become a bully in school, to fight for reputation and be seen by others. And in return, I was bullied, that’s the karma, as believed by most people, you reap what you sow kan? I was lucky enough to meet many excellent people that helped me to transform my inner “seeking for validation” kid into a healthier one, though validation was still a magical tool to brush up my days.

Like one of my favorite lecturers said this on the first day of my class, starting the journey on Counselling was not only learning the skills to help others, but learning the skills to help thyself first, to be aware of the unfinished business that I have never paid attention to, to understand where they all came from, my behaviors, my personality. Be like water to be able to flow and fit in every shape that is provided, as the great ones always say. I had tried very hard to become flexible during work, sessions, dealing with people, and even living my life. The number of times of trials had trapped me into the title of “being flexible” which restricted my flexibility to become rigid and stubborn. And I am still on the path of learning. Funny enough to say that, my favorite drink is water, maybe subconsciously I try to drink more water to be like water. But things don’t work out like that right?

I wanted to pursue a career in social worker, because I wish to do something for the society and I always wanted to do more than a session. Also heavily influenced by Michael Jackson’s songs, to heal the world and if I want to make changes to the world, don’t just ask for it, start with the man in the mirror. So I involve myself in community work for 2 years, to develop, deliver and facilitate the workshops held in B40 communities, giving talks, workshops and group counselling in Chinese high schools, raising mental health awareness in TTDI neighborhood, organizing free mental health screening etc. I speak fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, English and conversational BM (not up to session conduct level). Feel free to ask me any more questions when we meet. Have a good one!
