MORE ABOUT ME
I have facilitated drama therapy workshops and training locally and internationally in countries such as Iceland, Australia, Lebanon, and India. I have presented papers, workshops and performances in conferences in the UK, USA and Iceland. I have facilitated training and given talks for corporate companies such as Bumi Armada and GE. I am also a certified and experienced yoga instructor and incorporated some yoga practices in my work as a drama therapist, which helps with being present and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Coming from a background in dance and psychology, I experienced first-hand the healing aspects of the arts. I felt a calling to combine both my passion, dance and psychology. I finally found drama therapy which combined both my interests. As in drama therapy, we use stories, movements, drama games, role play, music and fun.
The best thing about drama therapy is that we address and work through the problem in a more creative and fun manner. Even if you do not consider yourself a creative or artistic person.
In my 17 years of work experience as a drama therapist, I have seen it work quickly and effectively, with my clients and workshop/training participants, whether with university students in Malaysia right up to prisoners in Lebanon, in a short period of time.
Although I have worked with clients from various age groups, backgrounds and challenges, my current focus is to work with adults, especially young adults and late teens who are going through depression and anxiety.
