MORE ABOUT ME
Having taught pre-university students for two years and a half, I found myself wanting to contribute more to the society and provide the safe space needed by many, especially those of the younger generation. Although I graduated in English Language (majored in Linguistics), I attempted to pursue my postgraduate studies in Psychology despite having to take the road less taken and managed to graduate in the field of Clinical Psychology.
Throughout the three years of Master studies, I volunteered for many organizations and had the privilege of understanding life from the views of the mentally ill population, aborigines, as well as the underpriviledged. I was also honoured to have completed my clinical placement in two government hospitals, i.e. Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab-II (HRPZ-II) in Kelantan, as well as Hospital Permai Johor Bahru (HPJB). Both practicum sites challenged me outside of my comfort zone in which I worked with populations of different races, culture, and ethnicities. The experience also helped develop my clinical skills, as well as communication abilities.
I am well-versed in both English and Malay, and am comfortable with both languages. I have been trained in conducting psychological assessments as well as provide therapy as needed Among the modalities that I practice include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
